Crystal Palace defender – who had AFC Wimbledon loan spell – set for Scottish Premiership move
Crystal Palace defender Kofi Balmer is set for a medical at Scottish Premiership move Motherwell tomorrow ahead of a permanent switch, the South London Press understands.
St Mirren were keen on a deal for the 23-year-old and had a bid knocked back by the Eagles in late April.
Balmer spent the second half of last season on loan at Wimbledon, where he made 17 appearances and picked up four goal contributions – one goal and three assists.
The Dons were keen to re-sign Balmer on a permanent deal but the former Larne defender is targeting a return to Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland senior squad next season.
Balmer already has more than 150 senior appearances to his name during his career, having also had a loan spell with Port Vale at the start of the 2023-24 season.
Motherwell wanted Balmer last summer on loan. No deal materialised but they have kept a long-standing interest in the centre-back and are closing in on a deal for his signature.
Palace are also willing to listen to offers for Killian Phillips and Scott Banks this summer.
The academy duo are entering the final year of their contracts at Selhurst Park and Palace will look to cash in.
