Crystal Palace goalkeeper makes injury progress

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson has returned to individual training as he steps up his recovery from injury.

The 26-year-old suffered a thigh injury in the 3-0 EFL Cup defeat to Manchester United on September 26.

Henderson joined the Eagles from the Red Devils over the summer, penning a five-year deal at Selhurst Park.

Palace splashed an initial £15million on the England stopper in a deal that could rise to £20m with add-ons.

The former Nottingham Forest loanee was on the bench in the Premier League under Roy Hodgson three times before being handed his first start at Old Trafford in the cup.

But Henderson was forced off after 19 minutes due to injury.

He will continue his competition with Sam Johnstone for the number one spot when he returns to first-team training in the weeks to come.
