Crystal Palace trio called up to Ireland U21 squad

Crystal Palace’s Tayo Adaramola, Sean Grehan and Killian Phillips have been called up to the latest Republic of Ireland U21 squad.

Adaramola started the season on loan at Coventry City in the Championship but made just one appearance for the Sky Blues, who reached the play-off final, before being recalled by the Eagles.

The young left-back spent the season with the Eagles U21 side and made 28 appearances in all competitions under Paddy McCarthy and Darren Powell.

Midfielder Killian Phillips spent the second half of the season on loan with Shrewsbury Town in League One and excelled in the third tier.

Phillips, 21, made 20 appearances for Shrewsbury, scoring three goals and picking up two assists.

The former Drogheda United midfielder made his Palace debut under Patrick Vieira in the 2-0 win over Oxford United in the second round of the EFL Cup.

This is Grehan’s first ever call-up to the Republic of Ireland U21 squad. The centre-back, 19, has made 30 appearances this season in all competitions.

Ireland will play Gabon U23s, Ukraine U21s and Kuwait U21s in a friendly triple-header.
