Crystal Palace’s new signing Malcolm Ebiowei on his South London upbringing

Crystal Palace’s new signing Malcolm Ebiowei has talked about his South London roots.

The winger , 18,officially joined the Eagles today on a five-year contract once his Derby County deal expired.

And Ebiowei was asked about the area he grew up by Palace TV, he responded: “I lived in Peckham for a little bit and then I moved to Bermondsey and I’ve been in Bermondsey ever since.

“I think I’ll get along with the fans, it’s like my area. It’s being somewhere almost like home.”

Ebiowei also had interest from Manchester United this summer but opted for SE25.

Asked about his playing style, he said: “I like to take players on…creative, fearless and I like to win. I really, really like to win. If you see me getting emotional, I just really like to win – it’s not me sulking.

“I like to learn off Zaha, for example, he’s been doing it at the highest level for a long time now.”
