Daniel Dubois to defend heavyweight title vs Joseph Parker in Saudi
Greenwich’s Daniel Dubois will defend his world heavyweight title against former champion Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia on February 22.
Dubois produced a career-best performance as he knocked out two-time champion Anthony Joshua in five rounds to retain his IBF world heavyweight title in front of 96,000 at Wembley Stadium in September.
Parker, from New Zealand, held the WBO title between 2016 and 2018 before losing it to Joshua.
“I’m really excited and ready to go,” Dubois told talkSPORT.
“I’m glad I’ve got an opponent now.
“I’m just ready to seek and destroy, to go to work again.
“It’s been talked about for a while, so I’m finally glad to get it on and get in the ring and show the people that I’m the real deal.
“Speed, youth, energy, power, everything – I’ve got to bring it.
“He’s an experienced veteran of the game, so I’ve got to just essentially just break him down and finish him off.”
