Deji Oshilaja becomes the third Charlton player to confirm they are moving on

Deji Oshilaja has become the third player to announce he is leaving Charlton Athletic when his contract expires.

Addicks manager Nigel Adkins was conducting meetings with the squad this week. Both Darren Pratley and Andrew Shinnie had already broken the news yesterday that they would not be extending their stays.

And now right-back Oshilaja has posted about his exit on Twitter. He said: “My time at Charlton has come to an end. I’d like to thank the staff, my team-mates and most importantly the great CAFC fans for your support over the last two years. I will forever cherish my time here and I wish you all nothing but the best for the future.”

The 27-year-old from Bermondsey was signed on a free transfer from AFC Wimbledon in July 2019.

It was always expected that Oshilaja would be released by the South London club this summer as he largely struggled to hold down a starting berth.

He made 16 starts this season but had not featured since the 3-0 home loss to Blackpool at the end of February. Oshilaja did not make the bench for the final five matches of the League One season.
