Dons chasing Luton Town striker
AFC Wimbledon are one of the sides battling to sign Luton Town forward Danny Hylton on a free transfer.
Despite the Hatters announcing at the end of the season that the forward was in discussions to extend his stay with the club, Hylton will now be available on a free transfer at the end of June.
The South London Press understands that Hylton has a lot of interest from teams in League One and League Two.
The London-born 33-year-old is leaving after six seasons at Kenilworth Road, where he helped the club rise from League Two to the Championship and scored 62 goals in 170 appearances in all competitions.
Hylton spent the second half of the 2013-14 season with the Dons on loan from Rotherham United, recording five goal contributions in 17 League Two appearances.
While he only featured 19 times last season, Hylton started the second-leg of Luton’s Championship play-off semi-final defeat to Huddersfield Town.
Wimbledon only have one recognised first-team striker, Aaron Cosgrave, signed so far for next season. Zach Robinson has been offered a contract by the club.
Hylton has notched up more than 430 appearances and bagged more than 110 goals in his professional career.
