Dons duo both vying for starting spot as striker will miss Bradford City match
Harry Pell and Josh Davison are in contention to start for AFC Wimbledon tomorrow with Ali Al-Hamadi away on international duty.
The duo played key roles in the last campaign but have had to play a supporting role this time around with Al-Hamadi and Omar Bugiel leading the line.
Al-Hamadi, 21, is away on international duty with Iraq and will miss tomorrow’s home game against Bradford.
Davison has started two games this season – the 2-1 defeat at home to Stockport County and the opening-day goalless draw at Grimsby. The 24-year-old did lead the line in the EFL Cup second round defeat at Chelsea.
Pell’s only start has come in the loss at home to Stockport.
Ex-Charlton forward Davison made 37 starts last season in League Two. Pell, 31, featured 28 times with his campaign impacted by injury in the second half of the season.
“Pelly and Josh want to be playing every week – of course they do,” Jackson told the South London Press.
“Their attitude has been excellent when they have been called upon. They have been ready and played a massive part.

“Saturday was the first game that Pelly hasn’t been involved in. They are playing a part, but it’s a different role to what they’re used to and what they would want.
“It’s a long season and there are a lot of games – there are going to be a lot of opportunities for them to get games. With Ali away this weekend, it might be one of those opportunities.”
Bradford head to Plough Lane with former Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald in caretaker charge after Mark Hughes was sacked.
McDonald has a 100 per cent record after two games in charge – a victory in the league over Swindon and a 2-1 win at Grimsby Town in the EFL Trophy.
Bradford are 14th in the League Two table and 10 places below the Dons.
“It won’t be easy,” said Jackson. “They’re a big club at this level – they will bring a big following.
“Making a change before the last league game makes it a bit trickier to prepare for. They could do some different things, whether that be changing line-up or formation.
“They looked a bit different style-wise against Swindon.
“It’s trickier to know what you’re going to come up against, but however they set up, it will be a tough game.”
