Dulwich Runners seal title and promotion in Surrey League cross country

Dulwich Runners women won the Surrey League Second Division title at Croydon’s Lloyd Park last Saturday, writes Jonathan Whittaker.

They entered the tricky five-mile race – previously postponed due to poor weather – in pole position after three races, 118 points ahead of London City Runners.

Another Clare Elms masterclass in cross country running was rewarded with third place (34:20) on the day and the overall senior and W50 age group championship.

Katie Smith’s excellent progress resulted in her best-ever placing of 11th (37:23). Ange Norris’s 18th place (39:18) secured the W60 age group championship with club captain Ola Balme next finisher in 19th (39:42).

Eleanor Simmons completed the team scoring in 24th (41:05).
