Episode 16: Lee Bowyer on THAT promotion-winning season at Charlton Athletic and the decision behind switching to international management – South London Press Football Pod
Welcome back to episode 16 of the South London Press Football Pod.
In a very special episode, Richard Cawley and Edmund Brack are joined by former Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer.
The 47-year-old opens up about his playing career, coming through at Charlton and becoming the most expensive British teenager when he completed his £2.8million move to Leeds United.
Bowyer played in the Champions League during his time at Elland Road, turning out against Barcelona and AC Milan on the biggest stage, and won his one and only England cap.
The ex-West Ham and Birmingham City midfielder talks about his managerial stint at Charlton, winning promotion, the summer after and some of the standout moments during his 157 games in charge.
Bowyer also talks about his decision to go into international management and explains his goals as manager of Montserrat.
