Ex-Crystal Palace defender makes League Two switch
Ex-Crystal Palace defender Adrian Mariappa has signed for League Two side Salford City for the rest of the season.
The 36-year-old former Watford and Reading versatile defender had been without a side since leaving Burton in January.
Jamaican international Mariappa made 49 appearances in all competitions during his time at Selhurst Park.
Mariappa, who featured most under Tony Pulis whilst with the South Londoners, played 30 minutes in Palace’s FA Cup Final defeat to Manchester United in 2016.Â
He also had a spell with Australian side Macarthur F.C. in 2021.
Neil Wood’s Salford side are seventh in the League Two table and have a two-point gap to eighth-placed Mansfield Town.
Mariappa left Palace in 2016 to rejoin Watford.
