Ex-Crystal Palace manager in the frame for Premier League return

Sam Allardyce is reportedly in the frame to replace Javi Gracia at Leeds United.

Former England manager Allardyce has been out of work since he left West Brom in May 2021.

The 68-year-old, who has also managed West Ham, Bolton and Everton during his managerial career, took charge of Palace in 2016, replacing Alan Pardew and leading the Eagles to Premier League safety.

Allardyce, who signed Luka Milivojevic, Mamadou Sakho, Jeffrey Schlupp and Patrick van Aanholt at Selhurst Park, left at the end of the 2016/17 season.

The Whites are winless in their last five and fell to a 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday. There are only four games left of the 2022/23 campaign, with Leeds just outside of the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference.

Ex-Watford boss Gracia replaced Jesse Marsch earlier in the season and has only been in charge at Elland Road for two months.
