Exclusive: Charlton Athletic interested in Bournemouth midfielder
Charlton Athletic are interested in a permanent deal for Bournemouth midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh.
The Southwark-born 21-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season.
Ofoborh has been capped at U20 level by Nigeria.
Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall confirmed recently that he wanted the South Londoner to extend his stay on the South Coast.
“He’s certainly a player we like and we want to keep,” Tindall told the Daily Echo. “It then becomes the player’s decision whether he wants to stay at the football club or not.
“Do I want to lose any of my players now in this window? Certainly not, certainly not going into the second half of the season.”
Ofoborh had told the same paper recently: “I’m not really focused on the contract situation side of football.
“I just focus on what I can do on the pitch and I leave the rest of it to my agent. Obviously, the people are going to take care of that.
“I’m a footballer first and I don’t really focus on things off the pitch. I’m just focused on improving every day in training and being happy.”
Ofoborh has made three Championship appearances this season – all as an 89th-minute sub.
He played the full match in both Bournemouth’s EFL Cup ties this season.
Ofoborh has previously spent time on loan at Wycombe, featuring 25 times and scoring twice.
