Exclusive: Millwall set to cut short defender’s loan – but another Lions man will take his place

Millwall are set to recall Danny McNamara from his loan at St Johnstone – with James Brown heading to the Scottish outfit for the second half of the Premiership season.

The 21-year-old has made 18 league appearances north of the border and has been an ever-present in that competition for Callum Davidson’s side.

But now the Republic of Ireland U21 international will return to SE16 and provide competition for the right-back shirt, which is in the possession of Mahlon Romeo.

The Lions intend to send Brown to St Johnstone. The 22-year-old has previously had loan spells with Livingston, Carlisle and Lincoln City.
