Former Charlton winger books League Two play-off final spot

Charlie Kirk scored the winning penalty for Crewe Alexandra in their 4-3 shootout win over Doncaster Rovers on Friday night.

The Ex-Charlton winger left The Valley in December by mutual consent and joined League Two side Crewe in February.

Crewe came back from 2-0 down, with goals from Mickey Demetriou and own goal from James Maxwell, to take the game to extra time and penalties.

Kirk sent Thimothee Lo-Tutala the wrong way and put the pressure on Hakeeb Adelakun, who saw his effort saved by Max Stryjek.

Crewe will now take on Crawley Town at Wembley on Sunday for a place in League One.

The Addicks spent £500,000 to sign Kirk from Crewe in August 2021.

But he struggled to impress under a number of different bosses at the South London club and had loan spells with both Blackpool and Burton Albion.
