Former Fulham striker makes Championship move

Former Fulham striker Josh Maja has joined Championship side West Brom following his exit from Frech second-tier side Bordeaux.

Lewisham-born Maja spent the second half of the 2020-21 season on loan at Fulham under Scott Parker, making 15 appearances and scoring three goals.

The ex-Sunderland academy graduate, who has also had a loan spell at Stoke City, scored 16 goals last season in the French second division.

He has signed a three-year deal at The Hawthorns.

“It was an important aim of ours to reinforce this position during the summer,” said Albion head coach Carlos Corberan.

“Josh has international and Premier League experience. His skills complement Brandon Thomas-Asante in a way which means they can play together or on their own. He drops deep to build attacks and also has good instincts in the box.”
