Fulham happy with £4m compensation for Harvey Elliott – tribunal ruling after Liverpool could not agree a fee

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Fulham claim they have been awarded record compensation for Harvey Elliott – with reports claiming Liverpool will pay more than £4million for the winger.

The Whites issued a statement on Wednesday in which they claimed the payout is a record for a 16-year-old.

The matter went to an independent Professional Football Compensation Committee after the two clubs were unable to thrash out an agreement.

Elliott became the youngest player to feature in the Premier League for Fulham – aged just 16 years and 30 days when he came on against Wolves in May 2019.

Now 17, he has scored four goals and assisted eight in 22 matches on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

“After a full hearing, the PFCC has decided that Fulham should be entitled to substantial compensation,” said the west London club.

“The award (undisclosed) is a record amount for a 16-year-old player and, in the circumstances, Fulham is very pleased and thanks the PFCC for its careful consideration of the arguments we put forward.”

Elliott signed a three-year contract with Liverpool in 2020, as soon as he was eligible to pen professional terms.
