Hockey: Wimbledon produce biggest win of season as newly-promoted Sevenoaks thrashed

Wimbledon secured their fourth consecutive victory as they demolished struggling Sevenoaks 7-0 – their biggest win of the season, writes Peter Marsden.
Phil Ball scored four times. He took just 13 minutes to open his account as he lost his marker and deflected home following a fluid passing movement involving Johnnie Kinder.
He had his hat-trick 32 minutes into the contest but the Dons needed a remarkable save by James Bailey to keep a clean sheet.
Iain Lewers converted a penalty stroke on 40 minutes, awarded for a stick tackle on Ben Arnold. Ball bagged his fourth just past the hour mark.
Ed Horler’s penalty corner was partially saved on 67 minutes but he converted from the rebound.
Ben Arnold rounded off a finish performance by rounding two defenders and completing the scoring.
Wimbledon climbed above East Grinstead with this emphatic win and are only a point adrift of fourth-placed Reading.
