Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna responds to Crystal Palace managerial links
Kieran McKenna has stated his full focus is on Ipswich Town despite being the bookies’ favourite for the Crystal Palace job.
The 37-year-old is firmly on the radar of the Eagles should they decide to part company with Roy Hodgson.
McKenna has been in charge of the Tractor Boys since December 2021 and has guided them from League One to play-off contenders in the Championship.
Palace host Chelsea on Monday night, with Hodgson expected to lead the side out at Selhurst Park.
As quoted by the East Anglian Daily Times, McKenna said: “Look my full focus, full commitment is with Ipswich and the season that we’re having and the next game ahead. That’s where all of my energy is and all my commitment is.”
On whether the link was flattering, he replied: “I don’t pay any attention to it, to be honest. It’s not the first time in the last couple of years.
“If you’re doing well there are going to be links. Football can work the other way pretty quickly as well. I just focus on the day-to-day work here.
“As I’ve said, I’m very proud and honoured to manage this football club, am enjoying doing so and will continue to do the best I can.”
