Key Wimbledon midfielder pens new contract extension

Jake Reeves has signed a new contract extension with AFC Wimbledon.

Reeves’ new deal keeps him with the Dons until the summer of 2026, with his previous contract set to expire at the end of this season.

The 31-year-old rejoined the club last summer and was instantly made captain by Johnnie Jackson.

He has featured 50 times under the former Charlton boss and provided two assists in the EFL Cup win over Ipswich on Wednesday night.

“When I joined I always had the aim of securing another deal by playing well and impressing the manager. I’m happy that I’ve done that,” he said.

“Playing here at Plough Lane, week in, week out is really special in comparison to other stadiums. The hunger is always there for success, it’s what keeps you going.”
