Loan watch: Lions striker grateful for patience as he nets late winner for Sutton United

Isaac Olaofe scored a late winner for Sutton United on Saturday against Crawley – and said he is thankful to Millwall and his loan club for the patience they have shown him.

Olaofe – nicknamed Tanto – has now netted in back to back games after notching against Portsmouth in the EFL Trophy last week as well.

Olaofe said: “Both games [Crawley and Portsmouth] were good shifts from the team, especially the Portsmouth game, the team played well as a unit.

“We fought to the very end and that showed today, we didn’t give up. I managed to jump high enough and get to the ball before the goalkeeper and defenders and got my goal.

“Every time I come on I try to be a handful. I was a handful and thankfully I got my deserved goal and we got the win as well.

“It feels good to be back out on the pitch. I’ve been out on the sidelines for so long and it can get frustrating. But I’m just grateful for Millwall and Sutton to both have the patience for keeping me and working to get me back to full fitness.

“Thankfully, I’m here and I’m doing what I love doing – scoring goals. Even if I’m not scoring goals, the team is winning so we’re in a good place.”

Mahlon Romeo played the full 90 minutes as Portsmouth lost 4-1 against Rotherham United on Saturday. The right-back has made seven appearances for Pompey since making the loan switch to Fratton Park.

Lions centre-back Hayden Muller wasn’t in the St Johnstone squad as they lost 3-0 to Livingston at McDiarmid Park.

Millwall defender Alex Mitchell made his sixth appearance for Leyton Orient since making the loan switch from The Den. He helped the O’s keep a clean sheet as they drew 0-0 at home to Walsall.

Junior Tiensia came back into the Dover Athletic side after missing the previous four games with a pulled stomach muscle. Dover drew 1-1 against Yate Town in the FA Cup.

Dan Moss featured for Yeovil Town as they drew 1-1 with Weymouth in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup.
