Marco Silva pleased with Fulham’s first-half display in 1-1 friendly draw against West Ham

Marco Silva was delighted with Fulham’s first-half performance in their 1-1 draw against West Ham – but added the second half needed to be better.

The Whites played the Hammers at Craven Cottage in a friendly before the Premier League returns on Boxing Day.

Silva said: “It was a very good first half. We were good and we did very good things. We took many positives from that 45 minutes.

“Second half, it was definitely not at the same level, we didn’t do the things we did in the first half.

“It’s really important [to have a test], not just this one but last week as well. It’s important for us to put minutes in the tank.

“With the right dynamics between them, it is really important these types of games to play at the level we have to on Boxing Day.”

Silva praised Carlos Vinicius for his goal in the friendly and added he has been working hard to get it.

He added: “Of course, it’s important for him. All the strikers need those type of moments for their confidence.

“It was something that he was was working hard to get it.“
