Midfield master Casper De Norre reflects on Millwall’s 4-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday

Casper De Norre is seeking more improvement from Millwall after they kicked off head coach Joe Edwards’ reign with a 4-0 demolition of Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

The Lions now have a fixture free weekend due to the international break before returning next Saturday with a home match against Coventry City.

Summer signing De Norre told Millwall TV: “It’s a well-deserved win after a few difficult weeks. Obviously with the new manager coming in, it’s a good start for us. It’s just one win and now the international break, but we can still improve a lot and I think we’re going to do that in the next few weeks.”

Former Chelsea and Everton first-team assistant Edwards has succeeded Gary Rowett in the Den hotseat.

Asked about the changes the 37-year-old made for the trip to Hillsborough, De Norre said: “It was a little bit more based on possession when we have the ball.

“Obviously I like it when we have the ball. I’m a player who loves to have the ball, to get a lot of touches so I can grow into the game and give my best game.”

Only Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton have taken more points on the road this season than the Lions.

De Norre said: “Away this season has not been a problem – we never lose away. It’s home that is a little bit of a problem.

“But just don’t think too much about it. We need to just do the same as we do in an away game, try and build on this performance and try to jump the league.”
