Millwall 2 Cardiff City 2 – Tom Bradshaw can’t stop scoring for Lions as they earn a battling point
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Tom Bradshaw keep up his hot scoring streak with a double for Millwall – taking his chance to make an early positive impression on new manager Gary Rowett.
The Wales international struck in either half to boost his goal haul to six for the campaign, with five of those coming in his last four outings.
Rowett, who will take charge of the team for the first time in Saturday’s game against his former club Stoke City, was in the directors box tonight as caretaker Adam Barrett took charge for one final time.
Twice the Lions clawed their way back from falling behind. Danny Ward headed Junior Hoilett’s cross through the legs of Bartosz Bialkowski in the 12th minute.
But Millwall levelled just before the interval. Mahlon Romeo’s cross was not dealt with by a Cardiff defender and Bradshaw’s strike from a narrow angle appeared to take a deflection past Neil Etheridge.
City were back ahead on 57 minutes through the dangerous Hoilett as he curled sweetly in from the edge of the penalty area after being teed up by Lee Tomlin.
Bialkowski made a vital save from Aden Flint and followed up with an even better reaction stop from the resulting corner to deny Sean Morrison.
That defiance by the Poland keeper carried extra significance when Bradshaw confidently finished again with 12 minutes remaining.
