Millwall boss Neil Harris: We have to be very happy with banking six points in four days

Neil Harris admitted his Millwall side could have made today’s 1-0 win a little less tense.

The Lions have taken six points out of six from the Christmas period and Ryan Tunnicliffe’s overhead kick secured the victory over Nottingham Forest.

Steve Morison hit the left post in the closing stages before Millwall had to endure five minutes of stoppage time.

It is two clean sheets in a row for Millwall for the first time since April.

Lions boss Harris said: “We could’ve made it a little bit more comfortable for ourselves with a second goal – with Stevie hitting the post.

“I knew it was going to be a close game. Two different styles of play. Forest want to pass, pass, pass while we want to get the ball forward a little bit quicker and force the issue.

“For the first 35 to 40 minutes we completely dominated and were excellent. We pressed the ball and forced mistake after mistake. We could’ve used the ball better on the counter-attack and had slightly more end product – but the same as Boxing Day the goal was worthy of winning any game.

“It was a great goal from Tunni. I won’t lie – he doesn’t score a lot in training either. It was a great finish. They are the fine margins. Look at Colback’s chance in the second half where he does almost a scissor kick and it goes straight to Jordan [Archer]. If that goes in the corner it is a different game.

“We could’ve been slightly better with the football in the final 20 minutes to make it a  little easier but where we are at the moment then six points in four days for us is a great turnaround.”
