Millwall confirm Jed Wallace contract offer and a double exit – with Dutch midfielder still in negotiations

Millwall have confirmed that they have offered Jed Wallace a contract and also that Alex Pearce and Connor Mahoney have been released.

The Lions announced their retained list this afternoon.

And it backed up our story last week that attacker Wallace – a free agent this summer – had been tabled new terms.

Millwall have said discussions are ongoing with Dutch midfielder Maikel Kieftenbeld. Manager Gary Rowett recently indicated he would like to retain the services of the former Birmingham City player.

We broke the news earlier in the season that Mahoney would not be staying with the former Bournemouth and Birmingham winger struggling to make a significant impact in SE16.

“Jordan Gillmore, Ryan Sandford, Joe Wright, Arthur Penney, Nana Boateng, Tyrese Briscoe, Alfie Allen, Abdul Abdulmalik, Besart Topalloj, Isaac Olaofe and Sebastian Drozd have had options on their contracts triggered,” said the Lions in a statement on their official website.

“Elsewhere, from the Lions’ U23s set-up, Sean O’Brien, Junior Tiensia, Kai Garande, Dan Moss and Jayden Davis have been informed that their contracts will not be renewed.

“Daniel Ballard, Benik Afobe, Oliver Burke, Sheyi Ojo and Luke Freeman have returned to their parent clubs following the expiration on their loan spells, and everyone at Millwall thanks the quintet for their outstanding commitment and professionalism during the season.

“Alex Mitchell, Isaac Olaofe and Mahlon Romeo return to The Den following the conclusion of their loan spells at Leyton Orient, Sutton United and Portsmouth respectively.”
