Millwall handed major boost as Shaun Williams back training – and definitely fit for Blackburn match

Shaun Williams is back in training for Millwall and is expected to be available for next weekend’s home game against Blackburn Rovers.
The 32-year-old has been missing since the start of December after damaging ankle ligaments in the 1-1 draw at Bristol City.
But Williams, pictured right, is ahead of schedule in terms of his comeback and could even come into contention for tomorrow’s FA Cup third round home tie against Hull City.
“Shaun Williams is back on the training pitch,” said Lions manager Neil Harris. “Whether he is fit for the weekend is a tight call – it is whether he has got enough sessions in his legs. He will certainly be back fine for Blackburn.
“At Ipswich we did not have Shaun Hutchinson, Shaun Williams or Lee Gregory down the spine of the team. It is a big loss. We also didn’t have Conor McLaughlin and Tom Bradshaw. The fact we had five senior players in the treatment one was something I was reminded of on New Year’s Day when I was disappointed with the performance.”
Millwall are hoping Gregory (calf) is only out for a month. Shaun Hutchinson suffered a bad cut to his leg – suffered when he threw a bag containing broken glass in the bin.
