Millwall are in talks with Nottingham Forest over a loan deal for Luke Steele.
The Lions look set to need cover in their goalkeeping department with Frank Fielding suffering a quad injury in their opening day win over Preston North End.
And Steele, 34, has emerged as a serious option for the South London club.
It is understood that Millwall and Forest are in talks over a switch.
Former Manchester United youngster Steele, capped at England U20 level, has played for Coventry City, West Brom, Barnsley, Panathinaikos and Bristol City before switching to the City Ground at the start of last season.
