Millwall legends help with podcast fundraiser for Cancer Research UK
Millwall legends Neil Harris, Lee Gregory and Steve Morison have signed t-shirts for a Millwall podcast on a fundraising drive to help battle cancer.
Chat with Chaps, set up in July 2024, was originally started by Chris Chapman to offer his post-match analysis on the Lions matches.
After growing the podcast and interviewing multiple influential figures in Millwall’s recent history, Chapman noticed how many listeners had mentioned that cancer had affected their lives.
He started the fundraiser with Cancer Research UK and Millwall. The idea has snowballed from there. There will be a campaign prior to the Middlesbrough home game on April 12 where the signed shirts will be available to buy.
Chapman told the South London Press: “We wanted to do something a little different and give something back to people making generous donations.
“Millwall fans are always so kind supporting charity events, so we had some t-shirts printed up and managed to get various ex-players and managers to sign them.
“We have a number in mind of what we would like to raise but we do not want to jinx it!”
The current squad also signed some and these can be purchased at Chat with Chaps CRUK Charity T Shirts – Nolu Clothing with all profits going to Cancer Research.
“A huge thanks to Steve Morison, Ben Thompson, Byron Webster, Neil Harris, Gary Rowett, Lee Gregory and the current squad for taking time out to sign them,” said Chapman.
“By donating you can get one of these signed t-shirts while stocks last. Anyone purchasing a t-shirt can collect these at our pop-up gazebo in the fan zone on April 12 from 1pm.”
There will also be some exclusive Chat with Chaps and Cancer Research pin badges will will be available on the day for a donation.
