Millwall manager Gary Rowett: It’s hard to be critical of Tom Bradshaw’s displays

Gary Rowett has praised the work ethic of Tom Bradshaw – and hopes the Millwall striker will end his goal drought soon.

The forward has not scored in the Championship since January 1.

And Bradshaw had a big chance in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Brentford, but could only send his shot wide of the right post.

Lions manager Gary Rowett said: “It’s hard to be critical of Tom because he works incredibly hard, presses brilliantly for us. At times we need that energy in those front three positions – he does it so well.

“What you then hope is he has a little run. He had a little run last season scoring seven goals in 10 games. What he hasn’t managed to do is break that duck to go on that next run.

“He’s getting some chances. He’s not getting as many chances as any striker would like, but you have to make those count.

“He’s working as hard as he can. I’m sure it will drop but of course as a manager you see that chance late in the game and you hope one of your players goes and takes it – but that’s football.”
