Millwall winger hoping Brentford win promotion to Premier League

Jed Wallace is hoping that Brentford secure the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship.

The Millwall winger reckons it is a straight fight between the west London club, Watford and Swansea with Norwich City looking nailed on for top spot .

The Lions still have to face a number of the clubs in the promotion equation. They host the Swans on April 10 and then head to Brentford the following weekend. Millwall also go to Watford on April 24.

Asked about who he fancies to go up with Norwich, Wallace said: “It’s close. Swansea have had two massive decisions go there way. Credit to [Andre] Ayew though, two penalties in the last minute and he stuck them in. Watford have won six of seven – they are on a hot streak and have most strength in depth.

“We typically do well against teams who have more possession than us.

“It’s hard to choose between Brentford and Swansea, similar styles and both have their outstanding players. Brentford would be sick if they don’t do it because they’ve arguably been one of the top two teams over the last two seasons – brilliant in both.

“It would be great to see Brentford have a crack at the Prem to see how a new club cope with it. They are a big club in their own right now with the ambition that they show.”
