Millwall boss Neil Harris: “I have about 13 or 14 players that possibly deserve to play against Preston”

Neil Harris says he has some tough decisions to make ahead of Millwall’s first Championship game of the season against Preston North End on Saturday – and there will be changes to the side that started against Real Sociedad in their final pre-season outing at the weekend.
Goals from Jed Wallace, Ben Thompson and a fine late effort from Connor Mahoney earned the Lions a draw against their La Liga counterparts in what was an impressive performance against a side that beat Real Madrid twice in the league last season.
Harris said: “I have got some tough decisions to make I have got to be honest, I have about 13 or 14 players that possibly deserve to play next weekend over the course of pre-season on their performances.
“That won’t be the team that plays next week against Preston. What fans might envisioned happening next week in the first game of the season in their heads, they might not see next week.
“It is a great position for me to be in, I have some tough decisions to make on players because there is real competition for places. I look forward to making those decisions this week.”
