No early loan exit intent for Millwall as attacker is linked with temporary switch away

Millwall will make no quick decisions on potential loan exits – with any activity in that area set to be further into the summer transfer window.

The Irish Mirror reported that Aidomo Emakhu is set to spend next season away from The Den.

And the publication add that there has been “a stack of enquiries” for the Republic of Ireland U21 international.

The South London Press understands that any loan movement out of Millwall will not happen until all of the current squad get an opportunity to showcase their levels after the resumption of pre-season training.

Emakhu, 20, signed for the Lions from Shamrock Rovers in 2023.

He made six Championship starts last season with 22 appearances in all competitions. Emakhu’s only goal was a fine finish at Norwich City in early August that was a late consolation. He also provided the cross for Romain Esse’s winner on the opening day against Middlesbrough.

Millwall announced in December 2023 that Emakhu has signed what they described as “new long-term contract” but they did not specify the length of terms.

Emakhu came on as a 58th-minute sub in Ireland U21s’ 2-2 draw with England U20s yesterday in Zagreb, Croatia.

He scored their third goal in a 3-2 win over Croatia U21s on June 7.
