No Wembley return for Bromley as they lost FA Trophy semi-final
Bromley’s FA Trophy dreams were ended yesterday as they lost 2-1 in their semi-final against Solihull Moors at Hayes Lane.
Ben Krahaus scored for the Ravens on the hour mark to cancel out Alex Whitmore’s 36th-minute opener.
But Whitmore scored again in the 74th minute to deny the South Londoners, who won the competition in 2022, a Wembley return.
Bromley boss Andy Woodman told the club’s YouTube channel: “We had a difficult goal given against us in the first half, which is disappointing. I’m not sure if it was clearly over the line – but those decisions happen, let’s not get all sour about that.
“We have got to lick our wounds and use this as a catalyst.
“We have to use these days of loss to galvanise us – to achieve what we want to achieve. We’re in tomorrow (Sunday) – that won’t pick them up!
“I’m gutted. I’m gutted not for myself, weirdly enough. I’m gutted for the people here and the community because I know what it did for us last time. It wasn’t our day and we ahve to respectful that’s football sometimes. We had enough chances to certainly win the tie but it didn’t fall for us – credit to Solihull, they defended well.
“When my players and staff have adversity they normally come back like a raging bull and I expect that from our lot.
“I can’t wait to get back into work now, I really can’t – get us ready to go to Barnet on Tuesday. There will be no hangover at Barnet – trust me on that.”
