Player ratings from QPR’s 3-2 FA Cup defeat to Bournemouth – Armstrong stands out as Rangers surrender first-half lead

QPR were knocked out of the FA Cup after giving up a two-goal half-time lead in their third round tie against Premier League side Bournemouth.

Goals from Sinclair Armstrong and Lyndon Dykes gave Rangers the advantage at the interval but Bournemouth hit back with goals from Marcus Tavernier, Kieffer Moore and Justin Kluivert.

Here are Dan Evans’ player ratings from Loftus Road.

Asmir Begovic – 5

Made a good save from Luis Sinisterra early in the second half but was beaten to the ball at his near post by Moore for the goal that saw Bournemouth draw level.

Aaron Drewe – 6

Showed he can be relied upon in the future in what was his first league start of the season. Gave as good as he got against the tricky Sinisterra, winning two tackles. Was replaced in the second half as Bournemouth began to flood his side of the pitch with bodies as they rescued the game.

Jimmy Dunne – 4

Gave away the ball to hand Bournemouth the goal that saw them go ahead. Made 10 clearances but still doesn’t look comfortable when asked to play out from the back and is prone to errors.

Morgan Fox – 6

A composed return to the team. Made five clearances and was competent when he had the ball at his feet.

Ziyad Larkeche – 6

Looked far more comfortable back in his regular role at left-back. Made a number of good driving runs in the first half but couldn’t find a final ball.

Elijah Bonner-Bonner – 6

Another game in which the young midfielder showed signs of promise. Was one of few to try and hold the ball in the second half and resist waves of Bournemouth pressure. Replaced late on.

Sam Field – 6

The sort of game that suited his qualities, making five tackles and two interceptions as he tried his best to disrupt Bournemouth’s long spells of possession.

Andre Dozzell – 5

Tidy on the ball at times but needed to get more involved early in the second half as Bournemouth staged their comeback.

Paul Smyth – 6

A couple of nice dribbles from the winger but his final ball was largely lacking.

Lyndon Dykes – 6

Like many others, had a good first half. Caused problems for the Premier League side in an unusual position on the left wing. Scored his first goal since November with a deflected effort following a driving run. Influence faded in the second half and look tired by the time he was substituted.

Sinclair Armstrong – 8

Proved too much to handle for the Bournemouth defence in the first half, burning past both centre-backs. The second time he brushed off Marco Senesi and finished expertly. He still has moments where he looks raw, and seemed to struggle with an injury in the second half, but this performance should see him earn more minutes going forward.

Subs:

Osman Kakay – 6

Made a couple of good defensive contributions after coming on.

Albert Adomah – 6

Struggled to get involved on the right flank. Played one good cross that Dykes could not turn home.

Lorent Talla – NA

Kenneth Paal – NA

Rafferty Pedder – NA
