Premier League club make bid for Charlton Athletic striker Mason Burstow

Mason Burstow has been left out of Charlton Athletic’s squad for tonight’s match at Portsmouth due to a bid from a Premier League club.

Addicks owner Thomas Sandgaard had revealed to the South London Press earlier today that there were “multiple’ top-flight teams interested in Burstow, 18.

And now that an official move has been made for his services it was felt the right call was to allow him to explore whether the move appealed to him.

Both Chelsea and Brentford have been mentioned as admirers.

Burstow, raised in Woolwich and Plumstead, scored with his first touch in professional football – coming on as a substitute in a 6-1 win over Crawley Town in the EFL Trophy.

He followed up by also marking his second appearance with a goal in a 4-0 victory against Havant & Waterlooville in the FA Cup.
