QPR boss Beale credits West Brom for shutting his side out at Loftus Road

Michael Beale gave West Bromwich Albion credit for their defending in their 1-0 victory against QPR at the weekend.

Kyle Bartley’s 68th-minute header gave the Baggies all three points at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.

Beale said: “West Brom defended extremely well and took their big moment when it came. We couldn’t find the big moment at the other end and we’re obviously really frustrated.

“Every game is so even and it is almost 50/50 who is going to win – we saw that again today.

“West Brom have lots of quality in their team and a lot of experience as well.

“It’s really important we have Chris [Willock] back, especially with Tyler Roberts not available and Taylor Richards picking up speed in terms of his fitness.

“Chris got through the 90 minutes well and we will have to make an assessment on what we can do with him on Tuesday against Huddersfield, and with Saturday at Coventry in mind as well. But we are always a better team with Chrissy around.

“We’ve got to recover over the next couple of days. We’ve got a few injuries, and we’ve got some bumps and bruises again today.

“We’ll see who’s ready and go again against Huddersfield.”
