QPR complete signing of ex-Chelsea and Everton keeper

QPR have completed the signing of Asmir Begovic following his release by Premier League club Everton.

The 36-year-old, who has won the Premier League with Chelsea, has penned a one-year deal at Loftus Road.

The west Londoners were in the market for a keeper after Seny Dieng completed his move to Championship rivals Middlesbrough.

Begovic has 256 Premier League appearances to his name.

He has also had spells at AC Milan, Stoke, Ipswich and Bournemouth during his career.

“This is a huge signing for QPR and for me personally,” QPR boss Gareth Ainsworth told the club website.

“Asmir is going to add so much. People I talk to in the game cannot recommend his professionalism and the leadership he’ll bring highly enough.

“He is coming in as our number one.”
