Spanish side Real Betis are weighing up a bid for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.

However, the South London Press understands any potential exit for the 26-year-old hinges on the Eagles signing a replacement before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt have also shown loan interest in Mateta in previous months.

Betis are in the market for a striker, with Brazilian Luiz Henrique set to join John Textor’s Botafogo side.

Mateta has cemented himself as Roy Hodgson’s first choice striker since Odsonne Edouard suffered an injury in the 2-1 home defeat against Liverpool.

The former Lyon youngster has featured 89 times for Palace and recorded 20 goal contributions across all competitions.
