Roy Hodgson asked about Eberechi Eze’s Crystal Palace future – with Manchester City heavily linked

Roy Hodgson is confident that Eberechi Eze will be a Crystal Palace player once the transfer window comes to a close.

Premier League champions Manchester City had been heavily linked with the Greenwich-born playmaker during the week after their pursuit of West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta broke down.

The England international has made 112 appearances – scoring 20 goals and picking up 13 assists – since joining from QPR in 2019.

“I know nothing about (City’s interest in Eze),” Hodgson said. “As far as I’m concerned he is (staying).

“I’ve had no notice from the people who matter at the club, the sporting director or chairman – not one of them has told me they are interested in selling players.

“I imagine Eberechi Eze would be right at the top of those players they are not interested in selling.”
