Millwall picked up  another point and clean sheet away from home with their second goalless draw of the week, this time against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

The hosts should have been in front after just four minutes. Former Huddersfield Town attacker Elias Kachunga curled an effort wide of the far post after winning a physical battle with Murray Wallace.

Despite being second best for the majority of the opening stages, the Lions created their first chance on 20 minutes.  Mason Bennett did well to get away from his marker down the left hand side, he pulled the ball back for Scott Malone, arriving at the edge of the box, but his header skewed just wide.

The Lions threatened again just a minute later. Jed Wallace’s ball was headed down by Matt Smith to Ryan Leonard, who drilled a shot wide.

Bart Bialkowski was called into action on 34 minutes, keeping out a powerful Josh Windass effort for a corner which the Lions defence cleared without any problems. Jed Wallace saw an effort curl over the bar on 43 minutes.

The Lions made a better start to the second period. Jed Wallace fired a 30-yard free-kick just wide of the post and Shaun Hutchinson also saw a header from a corner go over the bar. Windass was causing problems again up front down the other end and forced Bialkowski into another smart stop.

Millwall’s best chance of the half arrived on 76 minutes, Matt Smith heading substitute Connor Mahoney’s inch-perfect cross wide.

Bialkowski denied Jack Marriott deep into stoppage time.
