Slaven Bilic makes claim after West Brom’s victory over Millwall

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Slaven Bilic hailed the character of his West Bromwich Albion side as they coped with Storm Ciara and Millwall at The Den.

Filip Krovinovic and Dara O’Shea netted as the Baggies ran out impressive winners.

Baggies boss Bilic said: “We were better at the physicality – this is the standard and we have to continue with this.

“People said before it was Millwall weather – come on….our guys showed the spirit, character, willingness and effort and then our quality made the different.

“The only thing is we should’ve scored more goals, because we can always get punished [at 1-0].

“We should have scored the second one ages ago, even in the first half.

“I said to Gary [Rowett, Millwall manager] that they were always physical but now they are playing good football – and we stopped them. We neutralised them with our workrate.

“It was a top performance.”
