South London’s Nelson set to sign new Arsenal contract

South Londoner Reiss Nelson is reportedly set to sign a contract extension at Arsenal.

The winger, who was raised in Walworth, has been on the Gunners’ books since the age of nine.

The Mail are reporting that there has been a “breakthrough” in negotiations over the 23-year-old committing his future to Mikel Arteta’s side.

They add that Nelson has rejected two previous offers but is now set to sign terms for a minimum of four years.

Brighton, Fulham, Aston Villa and AC Milan have all been linked with the player.

Nelson has been capped by England at every level from U16 to U21.

He made 18 appearances for the Gunners last season and scored three goals, including a double in a 5-0 demolition of Nottingham Forest in October.
