Tennis: Catford Wanderers’ super vets defeat Sundridge Park

Catford Wanderers’ men’s 70-and-over super veterans were hosts to Sundridge Park last week.

Wanderers’ John Clay and Iliea Kemanichliev were comfortable 6-1 6-0  victors over John Leahy and Adrian Toothe but were held to one set each by Gerd Kumath and Brian Early.

Clive Richardson and Jeff Titus ensured that  the home side succeeded by halving with Kumath and Early 6-2 0-6.    Earlier they defeated Leahy and Toothe 6-2 6-1.

Catford Ladies’ second side won 2.5-1.5 at home to Oakwood.

The team was Donna Gabriel, Julie Taylor, Terri Borg and Sue Rice-Vine.
