‘We have got nothing left to lose’ – Billy Mitchell wants Millwall to attack final batch of Championship matches

Billy Mitchell wants Millwall to really attack the final batch of Championship matches with safety now assured.

Mihailo Ivanovic’s late penalty earned a 1-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday and moved the Lions on to 51 points.

“We have put ourselves in a pretty comfortable spot for this stage of the season and that means, for the remainder of the games, we have got nothing left to lose,” midfielder Mitchell told Millwall TV.

“We can make sure we continue to do everything properly and just see what we can really achieve this season. There is no pressure now, so everything to gain.”

Serbian striker Ivanovic took spot-kick responsibility after the officials deemed Josh Coburn had been pulled back in the box.

“Fair play to Miha because it is a brave thing to do at that stage of the game,” said Mitchell. “We had enough penalty takers on the pitch

between him, Josh and Aaron (Connolly). I had full confidence in Miha when he stepped up.”
