Will Ryan Inniss make Charlton Athletic return at Doncaster Rovers?

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Ryan Inniss is closing in on a first-team return at Charlton Athletic but manager Nigel Adkins has not confirmed whether the centre-back will be in his matchday squad at Doncaster today.

The 25-year-old has made just six appearances since joining from Crystal Palace in October after sustaining a quad injury.

But Inniss played for Charlton against Brentford’s B team during the international break.

New Addicks boss Adkins said: “I’ve had a good one-on-one with Ryan and a few more conversations as well. That was beneficial, just trying to understand him – where he has been and where he wants to get to. That’s a private conversation.

“He had a good hour against Brentford the other day.

“He wanted to play longer but the medical team have been sensible with his loading.

“He has trained since we’ve been here, that is good.

“We’re being positive and looking forward to how he can help the team.”
