“You saw glimpses of what he can do” – Charlton defender gives verdict on Aiden McGeady’s performance against Blackburn

Aiden McGeady has been backed to hit top form at Charlton Athletic once he has had a run of matches.
The Addicks took the Sunderland attacker on loan at the end of the January transfer window.
McGeady had not featured for the Black Cats after being frozen out by manager Phil Parkinson.
The Irishman started for Charlton in their 2-0 loss to Blackburn on Saturday.
Addicks right-back Adam Matthews, who played with McGeady at Sunderland, reckons the new man has proven to be a quality operator throughout his career.
“He is similar to [Stewart] Downing – he has played at a high level his whole career,” said Matthews.
“That can only help as we’ve got a young squad.
“You saw glimpses today of what he can do. He’s a bit low on game time but I’m sure that will come in the next few matches.”
