Take the plunge at Brockwell Lido this winter to help end homelessness

By Claudia Lee

Homelessness charity Crisis is calling on people to take on its Icebreaker challenge at Brockwell Lido this winter.

The charity is hosting a cold-water swim on Saturday, December 3.

Richard Lee, Crisis director of fundraising, said: “By jumping in you can make a huge difference to someone’s life and help raise money to assist us in supporting people in need this Christmas and all-year-round.”

The event includes a solo swim and a relay event for teams of four. Both events require each person to swim one length of the pool.

To register as a group, you will need to be sponsored and the money raised will go towards helping people experiencing homelessness this winter.

The events schedule will start from 11am when you can sign in. The solo swim will start at noon and the relay at 12.15pm.

Participants will be provided with a Crisis swimming cap on the day. Fancy dress is optional, but encouraged.

A £15 registration fee is required. It will go towards the charity’s efforts to end homelessness.

Registration is open now for the DIY challenge for those who would prefer to organise their own Icebreaker swim, wherever they are in the UK.
