Charlton boss not able to put timeframe yet on Marcus Maddison injury

Lee Bowyer is not able yet to put a timeframe on Marcus Maddison’s ankle injury – but reckons it is “not that bad”.

The Charlton attacker came off with the issue in Friday night’s 2-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley. He was not in the matchday 18 for Tuesday’s 4-4 thriller with Rochdale.

“I don’t know the timeframe but speaking to Dan [Murphy] after the game on Tuesday he has been for the scan and it’s not that bad,” said Addicks boss Bowyer. “So he shouldn’t be too long.”

Andrew Shinnie was set to resume training today but will not be in consideration for Saturday’s match at Bristol Rovers.

Darren Pratley and Jason Pearce are both suspended with Akin Famewo, Ryan Inniss and Ben Watson all injured.
