King’s College Hospital appoints its first equality chief

By Toby Porter

A hospital has appointed its first equality chief.

Funmi Onamusi

Funmi Onamusi has been appointed to the newly-created substantive role of Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

She will aim to accelerate the trust’s ambitious equality agenda.

She will also lead the way in delivering sustainable cultural change, and ensure King’s inspires in all its people practices.

Funmi joins from global management consultancy EY (formerly Ernst & Young) where she was Diversity and Inclusion Lead.

In this time she has worked with several large organisations to help them create, monitor and implement their EDI strategies – including a national healthcare organisation and a police service.
